Bring Your Parents to Lab Day Live Oaks Career Development Campus hosted a “Bring Your Parent to Lab Day” on Wednesday, November 19, 2003. Over 180 parents visited career and technical labs and participated in hands on activities with their teen. A presentation by Clermont County Sheriff A. J. “Tim” Rodenberg entitled “Now You’re 18”, provided information for parents and students about rights and responsibilities. A brochure summarized the information was disseminated by the League of Women Voters of Clermont County. Parents and students were treated to lunch prepared by the Student Development Department. Many parents commented that they enjoyed the special day and hoped that it would become an annual event..
Open House Live Oaks will be hosting their annual Open House for prospective students and parents on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 from 7-8:30 pm. Prospective students and parents will have the opportunity to visit different labs, meet instructors, employers, college representatives, graduates and business council members. Student ambassadors will be on hand to help our visitors find their way around the building. This is a great event and we encourage all local high school sophomores to attend.
Sophomore Visits Over the months of December and January, students from the area high schools will be visiting Live Oaks during the school day. Students who sign up for this event spend the morning in the labs of their choice. Hands on activities and a variety of presentations are shared by the instructors and students. During this visitation students receive a catalog, open house flier and an application to apply. The first round of applications are due on Feb 1, 2004. |
