This event was formerly known as the Annual
Fall Business Awards Dinner. It will be held Wednesday, October 27th
at the R.S.V.P. Banquet Center on Wards Corner Rd.
This year’s speaker was Marilee Chinnici-Zuercher,
President and CEO of FIRSTLINK, Columbus, OH. FIRSTLINK
is a nonprofit resource management agency which represents the
entire community. Ms.
Chinnici-Zuercher has traveled to several countries conducting
volunteer and nonprofit organizational trainings.
Everyone seemed pleased with the new name and
logo created by Mark Sund of Cincinnati Computer Concepts.
Small
Business of the Year went to The
Lavender Stick Florist. Owners,
Ginny and Harry Rimmer were most appreciative and thanks to their
employee, Karen Huff, their entire family was in attendance.
Other nominees included: The Kitchen Cuisine and Clermont
County Equipment.
Large
Business of the Year went to SEM
Haven Health Care. Joyce
Howell, President of the Board at SEM Haven accepted the award.
The other nomination went to Meier’s Store #157.
Volunteer/Service
Person of the Year went to Karen Huff of The Lavender Stick
Florist. Karen was
humbled by the award and her emotions were evident as she thanked
everyone for the honor. Other
nominated were: Chief John Cooper of the Milford Community Fire
Dept., Bob and Gail Laudeman President of the Valley View
Foundation, Tom Rocklin of UGS Inc. and member of the Clermont
County Literacy Council, Phyllis Welch, President of the Clermont
County Library and Mary Anne Will of UGS, Inc. and active in the SEM
Haven Health Care Foundation. All
were honored with a plaque and much applause.
Humanitarian
of the Year honors went to Nancy Storch.
She is known throughout the Milford area as a tireless worker
for many causes. Others
nominated were: Metchy Hance a Milford resident and friend of the
elderly and Karen Jessee, one of our Directors that seem to have
boundless energy always working on great projects.
The winners received proclamations from State
Representatives Jean Schmidt and Tom Niehaus, City of Milford
presented by Mayor Lou Bishop and Miami Township represented by Ed
Humphrey.
Cinci
Computer Concepts Designs “New” Logo
The new logo for the C.O.V.E.R. Awards Dinner
was designed by Mark Sund of Cincinnati Computer Concepts.
Mark has been an active member of the chamber for 2 years
first on the Milford Task Force and recently on the City directed
Revitalization Task Force. Thank
