Special
Recognition Community Service to Faith Church
- The
members of Faith Church in Milford are encouraged to give both time
and effort to the community. Serving locally, nationally and
globally can be seen in many of the church's more than 500
ministries. Among them are volunteer projects to clean the streets
of Milford after the Frontier Days festival and to clean
Miami
Meadows
Park
after the Midsummer in the Meadows concert and fireworks program.
After Hurricane Katrina, the
church committed to sending a mission team to the Gulf
Coast every month. Globally,
the church has supported an orphanage for children with disabilities
in Romania since 1998, sending 150 congregation members to provide
resources to children who otherwise would go without.
Another special ministry is led
by Pastor Dick Lehman, who worked as a marriage counselor for 10
years. He brought his expertise to Faith Church six years ago,
ministering to couples and conducting marriage and pre-marriage
retreats.
So inherent is the theme of
mission and ministry outside the church, most of the church's
worship services include a Faith in Action segment where church
members talk about their experiences serving others. This special
award is being presented to Faith Church for their service to others
and support of the community.
Small Business of the Year nominees:

- Digimax

Latitudes
- Latitudes has helped to increase Main Street traffic in Old
Milford as well as made an impact on many charitable and community
oriented events. As an example, when the Corner Barbership caught
on fire they were quick to respond with food and coffee for the
residents and firefighters having been in business for a short
time. Latitudes has participated in the last two Busker Fests,
Frontier’s Day, Fundraiser for Fathead Davis, Cystic fibrosis, Sids
as well as many other regional community fundraisers and benefits.
National

City has been supportive of not only the Milford Miami Township
community area but also Cincinnati at large. They have designated a
10 million dollar charitable fund that is administered and
distributed exclusively in Northern Kentucky and the Greater

the community by joining the Fire-Fighters Club Board of Directors.
He also offered his service by establishing and directing a Seniors
Thursday Mornings Gathering which debuted in May of 2005. Over 5000
seniors have participated since that opening a year ago. Bill
helped organize the first Frontier Days. He helped raise funds for
the first Milford Ambulance. He established the Miami Township

seniors as well as other organizations in the community.
Greater
Cincinnati Community Affairs Council (GCCAC) - The GCCAC
is a committee of employees at UGS in Milford which was created in
2003. The ultimate goal of the committee is to officially support
internal and external requests for community service programs in
order to make the community stronger and to help those in need.
During the past three years, the efforts and monetary support of
GCCAC have been fully funded by donations from employees and
employee fund raising activities. Some community service programs
include Mercy Health Partners Adoptafamily and Adoptasenior programs
as well as Thanksgiving Basket donations to 12 families and 5 Cares
Coats for Kids Milford Fire Department Annual clothing drive.
Monetary donations have helped to support some local activities
including but not limited to the Milford Fire Victim’s Fund, the
Literacy Council of Clermont and Brown Counties, Sem Haven Health
and Rehabilitation Center.
Kris
Baumann - In June 2001 she became a volunteer for Sem
Haven. Currently Kris averages over 30 hours a month volunteering
for Sem. She helps with any and all activities. She becomes
involved with the residents and they love her. Kris comes in
dressed in costumes for each holiday and activity. The activity
staff depends on Kris for assistance and the residents are always
happy to see her. It is hard to imagine programs without her. As a
testimony to how well she is loved, because she does not drive,
staff members are happy to drive her to and from Sem Haven. Kris has
also worked for the Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce as an
Administrative Assistant when needed.
Suzanne
Stagg - Suzanne community efforts show her desire for
Milford to be a place people want to live and visit. She has been a

Church. She is in charge of training and recruiting members of the
extra Ordinary Ministries of Holy Communion. She has weekly
Communion Service/Rosary at Tableen Cove plus visits those unable to
attend service. Metchy also has other community involvement
including volunteering at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati
Symphony, and worked on the Milford Planning Board. If everyone
contributed ½ as much time and effort to the community as Metchy
does, the world would be a much better place.
