The Education
Committee is busy preparing for the Dinner of Excellence to be held
at the Oasis, Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Beginning with a social
hour at 5:15 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm,
awards and recognitions following.
This event is one of the largest attended events that the
Chamber sponsors.
This dinner
acknowledges our teachers and retiring school personnel. Each school
in the Milford Exempted Village School District, St. Andrew, St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton and Milford Christian Academy select a Teacher
of the Year. From this
select list, the committee comprised of educators, and business
members pick an Educator of the Year.
Each educator nominee is individually recognized for their
excellence in the education and mentoring in and often time outside
the classroom. Also recognized are the retirees with ten or more
years of service to our schools.
Also starring this
evening are the recipients of the scholarships awarded by the
Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce.
This year we are proud to announce that the Milford Area
Jaycees and the Milford Historical Society will be presenting their
scholarship at this dinner. The other scholarships include: Milford
Miami Township Chamber of Commerce, Frontier Days, Herbie J. Shell,
Mary Ann Partin, Milford Community Fire Dept., Education Committee
and the Elmer L. Weigel Memorial Scholarship.
The competing seniors complete a packet of questions defining
their educational aspirations, their community service and
involvement and an essay question of “Why they think they are
deserving of the scholarship”.
Again, a group appointed by the core committee, pick the
deserving recipients. It
is an exciting evening for these young people and their families.

Jessee’s Shell, Brenda Johnson, Key Bank, Mark Lutz, Asst.
Principal Milford Sr. High School, Jadel Moore, Milford Kroger, Jim
Quatman, Asst. Superintendent, Milford Exempted Village Schools,
Gary Schulte, Principal Mulberry Elementary, R J Vilardo, R J
Vilardo Auto Sales, and David Williamson, Milford Christian Academy.
The cost to become
a Corporate Sponsor is $325.00.
You or your company will received 4 complimentary preferred
seats, share billing with the MMTCC in all marketing media and be
involved in award presentation.
